The Hollywood System is a GJ-based ADULTS ONLY (18+) roleplaying game which welcomes both Het and Slash pairings. It is set in the year 2001, in an alternate universe version of our very own world. The premise is simple: movie budgets were skyrocketing, attendance was failing, and the whole venture was beginning to become unprofitable for the businessmen behind the enterprise. The salaries of the stars were insane, and their demands were unreasonable- Hollywood had raised a generation of princesses.
This had to change.
The Powers That Be convened in a rare alliance, creating a new system to prevent Hollywood from ever getting so out of control again- the Hollywood System. Every would-be star must complete a two-year apprenticeship with a Mentor; a master of the business which he or she wishes to enter into (such as film, music, or dance.) To be an Apprentice means to be an errand-boy, valet, chauffeur, secretary, and housekeeper. Depending on the Mentor, sexual favors may also be required. In return, the Mentor provides experience in the field, contacts, and training. The idea is to keep the stars humble- once an errand boy, you always remember what the bottom is like... and you fear being sent there ever again.
